About Me
What I would like to do here is give you some idea about the type of person I am, from that you can make your own judgement about me.
I was born in Chelmsford Essex in September 1965, I was scheduled to be born at home but as I was awkward (breach birth) so was born in St Johns Hospital Chelmsford. I grew up in the Essex countryside surrounded by family. I had more aunts & uncles than I can remember, at one point it seemed that everybody on the Green where I lived were related to each other some way down the line. Life was good back then it was the time of your life when you felt the seasons and instinctively knew when it would be soon time for plowing, planting and then harvesting. My extended family on the Green could turn their hand to anything from digging a well to whittling up a corn dolly and it was a time when you could leave you front door open and never worry about who would walk in. You could say it was a sheltered upbringing but I think of it as warm and comforting, my grandmother would think nothing of slapping a bread poultice with mustard on your chest if you had an infection and once removed a dart from my right kneecap with a slight of hand manoeuvre before rubbing it better and sending me on my way.
My school days were a joy, Little Waltham Primary School was fantastic and it was a pleasure to go to the same school as my father. I was never one to stand out from the crowd, cursed as I was from an early age with Asthma, it made my school time challanging. Little Waltham held a school panto every christmas and I still look back and cringe at being made to were green tights as I was billed as one of Santas Little Helpers. Mrs O'field played a mean piano and Mr Wilson the headmaster held it all together, they were good times.
